SPOILER ALERT!! Hey everyone! It’s Chismama at the Siren with today’s “Got Chisme?!”
Okay, Chismama is freaking out this week. Just too much risky behavior out there, and Chismama just can’t take it. So here is some advice:
At work. Chismama does not recommend snooping around your boss’s office. If you think something is sketchy, contact la policia. Yeah, they gave you a parking ticket, but putting their lives on the line is their job, not yours.
At school. Parents like to think school is about math tests and book reports. Chismama agrees, except the book is Lord of the Flies and every day Piggy gets his head bashed on a rock. Oops, Spoiler. (Thank me later when you pass that quiz.) Anyway, nothing your classmates like more than to make you feel like an idiot for the way you dress, whatever you said, or something you did. You can’t stay off their radar forever, but you can rely on your true friends, teachers, counselors, and family to boost you up when they’re bringing you down.
On the Internet. You know people can be fake in person – well, they can be even more fake on the Internet. Chismama would know. I mean, you don’t know who I am, right? My point. So don’t give up your name, your age, where you live. Listen, you can be me: Chismama from Chisme-landia! Check out this resource: http://www.nsteens.org
On the street. Stay away from vans. Period. Even if they have unicorns and wizards painted on them. Actually, especially if they have unicorns and wizards painted on them. But for realz, all those things your mama said to you about staying away from strangers in cars are true! Even as you get older, the kind of candy they’re offering changes!
In the sack. I probably sound like one of DJ Nic’s loops here, but I can’t say this enough: Skip it, wrap it, pill it – do what you gotta do to play it safe. But even more importantly, make good choices on the next category, and you’ll save yourself even more grief!
In your relationships. Be honest with your partner, but first be honest with yourself. Does your partner have your back? Or go around behind your back? Find the people you can trust and when you’re in a bad situation – find people you can talk to – I’m looking at you, Ceci. Chismama loves you!
I know I can’t protect you from everything, but my eyes are always watching you, mis amores. Be safe, Chismitos and Chismitas! Besos! Besos!
